ESN Change vs ESN Swap vs ESN Reset

PPC Customer Tip of the Day: ESN Change vs ESN Swap vs ESN Reset:

ESN Change:
This is done when a customer wants to move their service from the current phone to another phone. For Instance: Your phone got broke so you bought/received a replacement when you move your service to the new phone that's a ESN Change. Your new phone CAN NOT  be active with Page Plus or any other service.

ESN Swap:
This is done when you have 2 active phones with numbers and want the numbers changed between the phones.
EXAMPLE: 
Before Swap
Phone A's #  (111)222-3333 & ESN/MEID/DEC/HEX A000000D783672
Phone B's # (555)666-7777 & ESN/MEID/DEC/HEX 1F0863BC
So what would happen is Phone A's # & plan would end up on Phone B & Phone B's # & plan would end up on Phone A
After Swap

Phone A's new # (555)666-7777 & ESN/MEID/DEC/HEX 1F0863BC
Phone B's new # (111)222-3333 & ESN/MEID/DEC/HEX A000000D783672

Re-Authenticate Your Phone or ESN Reset :
Re-Authenticating is done when your DATA/MMS(pic msg) stops working(if your phone is compatible). This usually happens when you change plans, add money after your phone's been off for a while. This will usually fix the "We are unable to authenticate your phone" recording you may hear sometimes.
The Easiest way to Re-Authenticate your phone is to DIAL *22890. *WARNING*  if your phone is a Sprint phone and still has Sprint software but is working on Page Plus then most likely you won't be able to get the Web or Picture Messaging to work so DO NOT dial *22890

GUIDE: How to check your balance and other information on Page Plus

Is there an easy way that I can check my available balance, remaining minutes, remaining text messages or remaining data online?

Yes! Directly at http://www.pagepluscellular.com they offer an "Online Account Management System (OLAM)" where you can register for a FREE ONLINE ACCOUNT to monitor many things such as this

Before using this OLAM system, you must already have an ACTIVE PagePlus Cellular phone with a PPC Phone Number.

To register for this free account, you must go to:

http://www.pagepluscellular.com/Register.aspx

After you are registered for the account and you log into it, you must then ADD your current PHONE to the account.

You do this by clicking on the Add/Edit/Remove phone selection on the left hand side of the screen. If your specific make/model of device is not listed, just leave both drop-down menus blank.

Continue to follow the steps, and when the system sends you a verification text message to your device, you enter the code to verify you are the authorized user.

From that point forward, as long as you enter the right text-message verification code, you can monitor your usage right on the OLAM system.

Please note, accounts that are on the STANDARD RATE PLAN do not have a meter inside their OLAM which shows CURRENT minutes used, CURRENT text messages used or CURRENT data used. ONLY phones that are on a plan such as Unlimited Talk n Text or Talk n Text 1200 will see a meter.

More Info on the Palm & HTC Ban Lift

On April 16th, 2010 the Palm's and older HTC's had the Ban lifted. So I can again Activate CDMA Palm's and HTC phones on Page Plus again. Glad to see Page Plus got their system straightened out and can allow these great phones again. Now they need to get the Black Berries figured out and back on the system. Hopefully they learned some stuff they can apply it to the Black Berry problem. I will keep you all updated on this and other matters. I hope this Information helps you all out. How do I begin getting setup on PagePlus Cellular?

This page is designed to be informative & thorough. If you are new to PPC, reading this will probably help you incredibly.

STEP 1: You need a CDMA phone to activate.

Typically "CDMA" Wireless pre-owned certified handsets will be eligible for activation on the PagePlus network, for Talk and Standard Text messaging(sms). Due to the software loaded into the handsets, PagePlus will not guarantee that the advanced features such as picture messaging(mms), Data services(web), and BREW(app. store/web) will work correctly on the device.

For best results, please use a PagePlus approved handset. A tri-mode or dual band phone will be best as these phones are able to use both regular cellular networks and PCS networks.

If you are porting over from Verizon or Sprint, usually you can bring your current Sprint or Verizon Post-Paid device with you. Please understand that porting from Sprint or Verizon will cause you to get charged an Early Termination Fee if you are still under contract.

If you have any questions about whether your chosen phone has a "clear/clean esn", you can contact Verizon at 800-922-0204 to have the ESN checked for clearance. Verizon can not check Sprint ESN/MEID'S. I can do this for you also.

STEP 2: Make a decision - do you want a NEW NUMBER or do you want to PORT a number in?

You need to decide if you are going to want a NEW PHONE NUMBER from PagePlus or if you want to PORT a phone number into PagePlus from another carrier.

If you want to get a new phone number, then you want to order a NEW ACTIVATION from PPC or from another line dealer.

If you want to port a number in, then you want to START A NEW PORT through PPC or through another online dealer.

STEP 3: Pick a plan and purchase a PIN.

Once you have gotten your phone picked out, activated it with a new number or ported your existing number in from another carrier, you need to pick a plan.

All phones by default when activated start on the Standard Plan, which is also called the Pay-As-You-Go Plan. All new activations will receive a $2.00 Activation Credit from a dealer & $0 from Page Plus as of Tuesday, April 20th 2010. Until then it will continue to be the $6/60 minutes. So you can try out the service with this free credit.
The $2 credit equals 20 minutes = $0.10 a minute for talk, $0.08 per text(SMS) sent or received and $0.25+data for picture messaging(MMS).
Standard Plan Minutes range from 4 cents to 10 cents per minute, depending upon the denomination of the refill card that you choose to purchase.

By far, two of our most popular plans are the:

Talk n Text 1200 Plan for $29.95/mo

Another suggestion that I like to throw out to customers is: You may wish to get to know, and establish a relationship with, an online dealer. Sometimes PPC can be very hard to reach and, therefore, by having a dealer "on your side" and "familiar with your needs", you can avoid a lot of frustration by contacting your dealer instead of PPC directly.
